Girls, Gays, Theys, & Allies,
What it do baby boo! It’s your trans friend, KB Brookins. I’m back at it with some good trans news. Let’s get into it!
Trans News: The Video
I chatted about this briefly last week, but it warrants re-stating: Michaela Coel and Pedro Pascal are on the right side of history!
After an anti-trans U.K. supreme court ruling, over 1300 British writers (including Coel) signed an open letter expressing solidarity with the trans community. Also, Pascal called J.K. Rowling a "heinous loser” because she dared to celebrate this ruling.
Let me get on my soapbox for a second & say this: stop supporting Harry Potter. Its founder — who gets money from all your book purchases, TV/movie streams, video game downloads/purchases, tickets to staged productions, visits t attractions that are Harry Potter-themed — is anti-trans! There are other similar books, games, movies, and other media you can consume instead. If you MUST hate-watch or whatever, p!r@te it so she doesn’t get more money to be more hateful. Don’t let nostalgia or allegiance to some fandom full of transphobes let you make decisions you’ll feel bad about anyway. Don’t put fantasy over real trans people.
You can do this, I promise. Now, onto the list!
