Girls, Gays, Theys, & Allies,
Yoyoyo! It’s your trans friend, KB. I missed last week (and I’m sorry about that), but that means that there’s more good news in this one than usual :)
Let’s get into it!
Good Trans News: The Videos
You see how I said VIDEOS? Well, this week there’s two :) the first video covers a report that just came out with Data for Progress, a progressive think tank that conducts research to produce strategic insights, inform policymaking, and equip movements with the tools needed to advance a more just, equitable future. Their report proves that Americans don’t want the government involved in trans issues. This is good news, considering that they are OVER-involved — at federal, state, and city levels.
There’s a lot of other good pro-trans data in the report, too! Check it out (and use it when you encounter anti-trans rhetoric) here.
My 2nd video is on media mogul Ts Madison’s new shelter for Black trans women in Atlanta! The shelter is specifically for those coming home after incarceration.
This is HUGE, considering the negative outcomes for Black trans women in particular. The shelter is in partnership with @naesminc and part of A New Way of Life’s Safe Housing Network; the grand opening happened on Trans Day of Visibility. 🖤🏳️⚧️
Congrats to these folks! You can donate to the shelter directly here. Now, onto a list of good trans news.

An out trans woman is competing in Miss Maine USA for the first time. Yay!
Inspired by the AIDS quit, this pro-trans “Freedom to Be” quilt debuts in Washington DC next month.
A district court has ruled in favor of 6 trans and nonbinary plaintiffs. Now, the State Department has to issue them updated passports! Let’s hope this is granted to all trans and nonbinary people in the U.S. soon.
That’s all the news I have for you this week. What did I miss? Is there any other good news you’d like to share? Let me know in the comments.
Till next time,
KB
